deepC Store presents at the “CCS International Symposium” hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Environment

deepC Store Managing Director Daein Cha delivered a presentation titled “Enabling Transboundary CCS in the Asia Pacific” on Tue 23 March 2025 at the “Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) International Symposium” hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Environment.

Daein highlighted that:

(1) Australia is an attractive jurisdiction for CO2 storage, with robust geology and regulations

(2) deepC Store is developing large-scale CO storages in Australia for enabling transboundary CCS in APAC, and

(3) Challenges to collaboratively address are (a) harmonisation of regulation; (b) improved social acceptance; and (c) R&D for CCS unit cost reduction.

The CCS International Symposium was held over 2 days on 25th and 26th of March 2025, with over 200 CCS stakeholders from Japan and overseas attending.
